Mrs. LINCOLN submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill S. 1042, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2006 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe personnel strengths for such fiscal year for the Armed Forces, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:
At the appropriate place, insert the following:
SEC. __. INCLUSION OF VA HEALTH BENEFITS HOTLINE INFORMATION IN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFIT DECISION AND ADJUSTMENT NOTICES AND ACCOUNT STATEMENTS.
(a) Benefit Decision and Adjustment Notices.--Section 205(s) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 405(s)) is amended--
(1) in the first sentence--
(A) by striking “(1)” and inserting “(i)”;
(B) by striking “(2)” and inserting “(ii)”; and
(C) by inserting “(1)(A)” after “(s)”;
(2) in the second sentence--
(A) by inserting “(B)” before “In”; and
(B) by striking “paragraph (2)” and inserting “clause (ii) of subparagraph (A)”; and
(3) by adding at the end the following:
