Inserted: (1) Members of the Armed Forces on active duty, including members of the reserve components of the Armed Forces on active duty.
Inserted: (2) Members of the National Guard on full-time State active duty service that is treated as service in title 32, United States Code, status pursuant to the September 7, 2005, memorandum of the Acting Deputy Secretary of Defense regarding Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts.
Inserted: (c) Area Affected by Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Rita Defined.--In this section, the term "area affected by Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Rita" means an area that is under a designation by the President of a major disaster (as that term is defined in section 102 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5122)) in connection with Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Rita.
Inserted: (d) Funding.--Amounts appropriated by title I for Military Personnel shall be available for the payment of hardship duty pay under this section for fiscal years 2005 and 2006.
