Inserted: (a) Maximum Period of Receipt of Expenses.--Section 404a(c)(3) of title 37, United States Code, is amended by striking "20 days" and inserting "60 days".
Inserted: (b) Extension of Authority for Increase in Certain BAH.--Section 403(b)(7)(E) of such title is amended by striking "December 31, 2008" and inserting "December 31, 2009".
Inserted: (c) Effective Date.--The amendments made by this section shall take effect on October 1, 2007.

Mrs. CLINTON submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill H.R. 1585, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2008 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:
At the end of subtitle A of title VI, add the following:
SEC. 604. EXTENSION AND ENHANCEMENT OF AUTHORITY FOR TEMPORARY LODGING EXPENSES FOR MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES IN AREAS SUBJECT TO MAJOR DISASTER DECLARATION OR FOR INSTALLATIONS EXPERIENCING SUDDEN INCREASE IN PERSONNEL LEVELS.
