Mr. CRAIG (for himself, Mr. Crapo, Mr. Smith, Mr. Domenici, Mr. Stevens, Ms. Murkowski, Mr. Bennett, and Mr. Wyden) submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill H.R. 2642, making appropriations for military construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2008, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

At the appropriate place, insert the following:

SEC. ___. REAUTHORIZATION OF THE SECURE RURAL SCHOOLS PROGRAM.

The Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000 (Public Law 106-393; 16 U.S.C. 500 note) is amended--

(1) in section 208--

(A) in the first sentence, by striking “2007” and inserting “2008”; and

(B) in the second sentence, by striking “2008” and inserting “2009”; and

(2) in section 303--

(A) in the first sentence, by striking “2007” and inserting “2008”; and

(B) in the second sentence, by striking “2008” and inserting “2009”.
