Inserted: Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Chief of Engineers, in carrying out section 2875 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (Public Law 110-181; 122 Stat. 563) and section 2866 of the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007 (Public Law 108-364; 120 Stat. 2499), shall accept title to the Woonsocket Local Flood Protection District, Rhode Island project and the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier, Providence, Rhode Island project, as prescribed under such sections, respectively, without regard to their condition.

Mr. REED submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 3001, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2009 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:
On page 458, between lines 12 and 13, insert the following:
SEC. 2842. MODIFICATION OF AUTHORITY RELATED TO ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS PROJECTS, WOONSOCKET LOCAL FLOOD PROTECTION DISTRICT AND FOX POINT HURRICANE BARRIER, PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND.
