1. Adds SEC. ___. CARRYING OF FIREARMS BY DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES wherever appropriate

   Adds a section

   Inserted: SEC. ___. CARRYING OF FIREARMS BY DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES.

   Inserted: (a) Authority of the Office of the Inspector General.--Section 1337 of the Agriculture and Food Act of 1981 (7 U.S.C. 2270) is amended--

   Inserted: (1) in paragraph (1), by inserting "and" after the semicolon;

   Inserted: (2) in paragraph (2), by striking "; and"; and

   Inserted: (3) by striking paragraph (3).

   Inserted: (b) Firearm Authority of Employees Engaged in Animal Quarantine Enforcement.--

   Inserted: (1) In general.--Section 1 of Public Law 97 312 (7 U.S.C. 2274) is repealed.

   Inserted: (2) Effect on regulations.--Any regulation promulgated by the Secretary of Agriculture under section 1 of Public Law 97 312 (7 U.S.C. 2274) shall have no force or effect.

   Inserted: (3) Conforming amendment.--Section 2 of Public Law 97 312 (96 Stat. 1461) is redesignated as section 1.

   Inserted: (c) Enforcement Provisions.--Section 204(b)(1) of the Sikes Act (16 U.S.C. 670j(b)) is amended--

   Inserted: (1) by striking clause (i); and

   Inserted: (2) by redesignating clauses (ii) through (v) as clauses (i) through (iv), respectively, and by indenting appropriately.
