1. Adds SEC. 332. REPORT ON SUPPORT FOR LAUNCHES IN SUPPORT OF NATIONAL SECURITY at the end of subtitle D of title III

   (b) Clerical Amendment.--The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 23 of such title is amended by striking the item relating to section 489.

   Inserted: SEC. 332. REPORT ON SUPPORT FOR LAUNCHES IN SUPPORT OF NATIONAL SECURITY.

   Inserted: (a) In General.--Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Air Force shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the requirements and investments needed to modernize Department of Defense space launch facilities and supporting infrastructure at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Vandenberg Air Force Base.

   Inserted: (b) Elements.--The report required under subsection (a) shall include the following elements:

   Inserted: (1) The results of the investigation into the failure of the radar system supporting the Eastern range in March 2014, including the causes for the failure.

   Inserted: (2) An assessment of each current radar and other system as well as supporting infrastructure required to support the mission requirement of the range, including back-up systems.

   Inserted: (3) An estimate of the annual level of dedicated funding required to maintain and modernize the range infrastructure in adequate condition to meet national security requirements.

   Inserted: (4) A review of requirements to repair, upgrade, and modernize the radars and other mission support systems to current technologies.

   Inserted: (5) A prioritized list of projects, costs, and projected funding schedules needed to carry out the maintenance, repair, and modernization requirements.
