SEC. 11001. STUDY ON RISK REDUCTION.
(a) In General.--Not later than 18 months after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary, in coordination with the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Commerce, shall enter into an arrangement with the National Academy of Sciences to carry out a study and make recommendations relating to infrastructure and coastal restoration options for reducing risk to human life and property from extreme weather events, such as hurricanes, coastal storms, and inland flooding[inserted: , and from the short- and long-term impacts of multi-year droughts, sea level rise, and ocean acidification].
