SA 1586. Mr. LEE (for Mr. Budd) submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by Mr. Lee to the bill H.R. 815, to amend title 38, United States Code, to make certain improvements relating to the eligibility of veterans to receive reimbursement for emergency treatment furnished through the Veterans Community Care program, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place, insert the following: Sec. __. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of Homeland Security may not admit, parole, or otherwise release an alien into the United States whose country of origin is a country the government of which has repeatedly provided support for acts of international terrorism, as determined by the Secretary of State pursuant to section 1754(c) of the Export Control Reform Act of 2018 (50 U.S.C. 4813(c)), section 40 of the Arms Export Control Act (22 U.S.C. 2780) or section 620A of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. 2371), unless such alien has been granted asylum by an immigration judge in accordance with section 208 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1158). ______
