SA 2148. Mr. CORNYN (for himself and Mr. Cruz) submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 4638, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2025 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place in title VII, insert the following: SEC. 7__. IDENTIFICATION IN PATIENT MEDICAL RECORDS OF AFFILIATION OF CERTAIN NON-DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS. (a) In General.--Chapter 55 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 1091 the following new section: ``Sec. 1091a. Identification in patient medical records of affiliation of certain non-Department of Defense health care providers ``(a) In General.--The Secretary of Defense shall ensure that medical records of the Department of Defense include the organizational affiliation of any covered health care provider identified in such medical records. ``(b) Covered Health Care Provider Defined.--In this section, the term `covered health care provider' means a health care provider who is not-- ``(1) a member of the uniformed services; ``(2) an employee of the Department of Defense; ``(3) an employee of another agency of the Federal Government detailed to the Department of Defense; ``(4) a personal services contractor under section 1091 of this title; or ``(5) a volunteer under section 1588 of this title.''. (b) Clerical Amendment.--The table of sections at the beginning of such chapter is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 1091 the following new item: ``1091a. Identification in patient medical records of affiliation of certain non-Department of Defense health care providers.''. ______
