SA 2734. Mr. CRUZ submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 4638, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2025 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the end of subtitle C of title XII, add the following: SEC. 1239. FEASIBILITY REPORT ON PERMANENT STATIONING OF ADDITIONAL ARMORED BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM IN EUROPE. (a) In General.--Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the feasibility and efficiency of, in response to recent aggression by the Russian Federation, permanently stationing in Europe an additional armored brigade combat team of the United States Army for the purpose of strengthening deterrence and reassuring Eastern European member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. (b) Elements.--The report required by subsection (a) shall include the following: (1) An examination of, at a minimum, basing solutions in Poland and Germany. (2) An analysis on the impact of such basing on the deployment tempo of armored brigade combat teams of the United States Army based in the continental United States. ______
