SA 2999. Mr. CRUZ submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 4638, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2025 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the subtitle B of title VI, add the following: SEC. 615. TERMINATION OF OBLIGATION TO REPAY BONUSES OF MEMBERS SEPARATED SOLELY FOR REFUSING COVID-19 VACCINE. (a) Release From Repayment Obligation.--A former member of the Armed Forces who was separated from the Armed Forces based solely on the failure of the member to obey an order to receive a vaccine for COVID-19 shall be released from any obligation to repay any bonus received by the former member from the Department of Defense. (b) Reimbursement of Repayments.--A former member of the Armed Forces described in subsection (a) who, before the date of the enactment of this Act, repaid any portion of a bonus described in that subsection shall be reimbursed by the Secretary of Defense for such repayment. ______
