A BILL
To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to provide grants for the
preservation of historic courthouses.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. GRANTS FOR PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC COURTHOUSES.
(a) Authorization.--The Secretary of the Interior may make grants
to States and units of local government for preservation of eligible
historic courthouses.
(b) Eligible Historic Courthouse.--For the purposes of this
section, an eligible historic courthouse is a courthouse--
(1) that is at least 35 years old; and
(2) the preservation which has not been previously
supported by Federal funds.
