A BILL
To amend the Head Start Act to improve provisions relating to updating
population data.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. UPDATING POPULATION DATA.
Section 640(a)(4) of the Head Start Act (42 U.S.C. 9835(a)(4)) is
amended in the flush matter following subparagraph (B)--
(1) by striking ``shall use the most recent data
available'' and inserting ``shall use data that is not more
than 2 years old''; and
(2) by striking ``use of the most recent data available''
and inserting ``such data''.
