A BILL
To amend title 38, United States Code, to provide eligibility for
astronauts for Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. ELIGIBILITY OF ASTRONAUTS FOR SERVICEMEMBERS' GROUP LIFE
INSURANCE.
(a) Treatment of Service As Active Duty.--Paragraph (1) of section
1965 of title 38, United States Code, is amended--
(1) in subparagraph (C), by striking ``and'' at the end;
(2) in subparagraph (D), by striking the period at the end
and inserting ``; and''; and
(3) by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:
``(E) full-time duty as a Command Pilot, Pilot, or
Mission Specialist of the National Aeronautics and
Space Administration.''.
(b) Treatment as Insurable Members.--Paragraph (5) of such section
is amended--
(1) in subparagraph (C), by striking ``and'' at the end;
(2) in subparagraph (D), by striking the period at the end
and inserting ``; and''; and
(3) by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:
``(E) a person on active duty as a Command Pilot,
Pilot, or Mission Specialist of the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration.''.
