A BILL
To provide for a period of open enrollment for judicial officials under
section 376 of title 28, United States Code, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. PERIOD OF OPEN ENROLLMENT FOR JUDICIAL OFFICIALS.
(a) Short Title.--This Act may be cited as the ``Judicial
Officials' Survivor Annuity Enrollment Act of 2003''.
(b) In General.--Section 376(a)(1) of title 28, United States Code,
is amended in the matter following subparagraph (G)--
(1) in clause (vi) by striking ``date, or'' and inserting
``date,''; and
(2) by inserting before the semicolon at the end ``, or
(viii) the date of enactment of the Judicial Officials'
Survivor Annuity Enrollment Act of 2003''.
