A BILL

To facilitate shareholder consideration of making Settlement Common
Stock under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act available to Alaska
Natives born after December 18, 1971, descendants of Alaska Natives
born after December 18, 1971, missed enrollees, and Native Elders, and
for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. PROCEDURES FOR CONSIDERING AMENDMENTS AND RESOLUTIONS UNDER
THE ALASKA NATIVE CLAIMS SETTLEMENT ACT.

Section 36(d)(3) of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (43
U.S.C. 1629b(d)(3)) is amended by inserting after ``of this section''
the following: ``or an amendment to the articles of incorporation
described in section 7(g)(1)(B)''.

SEC. 2. TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS.

(a)(1) Section 337(a) of the Department of the Interior and Related
Agencies Appropriations Act, 2003 (Division F of Public Law 108-7; 117
Stat. 278; February 20, 2003) is amended--
(A) in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking
``Section 1629b of title 43, United States Code,'' and
inserting ``Section 36 of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement
Act (43 U.S.C. 1629b)''; and
(B) in paragraph (2), by striking ``by creating the
following new subsection:'' and inserting ``in subsection (d),
by adding at the end the following:''.
(2) Section 36 of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (43
U.S.C. 1629b) is amended--
(A) in subsection (d)(3), by striking ``(d)''; and
(B) in subsection (f), by striking ``section 1629e of this
title'' and inserting ``section 39''.
(b)(1) Section 337(b) of the Department of the Interior and Related
Agencies Appropriations Act, 2003 (Division F of Public Law 108-7; 117
Stat. 278; February 20, 2003) is amended by striking ``Section
1629e(a)(3) of title 43, United States Code,'' and inserting ``Section
39(a)(3) of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (43 U.S.C.
1629e(a)(3))''.
(2) Section 39(a)(3)(B)(ii) of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement
Act (43 U.S.C. 1629e(a)(3)(B)(ii)) is amended by striking ``(a)(4) of
section 1629b of this title'' and inserting ``section 36(a)(4)''.
(c) The amendments made by this section take effect on February 20,
2003.
