Mr. Poe submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the
Committee on Rules

RESOLUTION
Amending rule XXV of the Rules of the House of Representatives to
prohibit Members, officers, and employees of the House from accepting
gifts from registered lobbyists.
Resolved, That clause 5(a)(1)(A) of rule XXV of the Rules of the
House of Representatives is amended by adding at the end the following
new sentence: ``Notwithstanding any other provision in this clause, in
no event may a Member, Delegate, Resident Commissioner, officer, or
employee accept a gift from a registered lobbyist.''.
