A bill for the relief of Joseph Gabra and Sharon Kamel.

AI-Generated Summary

Updated April 15, 2026 at 1:27 PM UTC

The bill gives Joseph Gabra and Sharon Kamel a special path to become lawful permanent residents of the United States. It lets them apply for immigrant visas or adjust their status even though they do not meet the usual immigration requirements, as long as they file within two years and pay the required fees. The law also slightly reduces the overall visa quota for their country of birth to offset the two visas granted to them.

Key Provisions

  • Allows Gabra and Kamel to apply for an immigrant visa or adjust status to permanent resident, overriding the normal eligibility rules.
  • If they enter the U.S. before the filing deadline, they are treated as having entered lawfully and can adjust status immediately.
  • They must submit their applications and pay fees within two years of the law’s enactment.
  • The State Department must reduce the total number of immigrant visas available to natives of their birth country by two, either in the current or next fiscal year.
