ASCEND Act of 2019

Introduced January 8, 2019

AI-Generated Summary

Updated April 14, 2026 at 12:07 AM UTC

The ASCEND Act of 2019 changes the rules for collateral on Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loans. By amending the 2015 RISE After Disaster Act, it removes certain sections that set collateral requirements, making it easier for small businesses in disaster‑affected areas to obtain loan assistance.

Key Provisions

  • Amends the RISE After Disaster Act of 2015 by deleting subsections (b) and (c), which previously detailed collateral requirements for SBA disaster loans.
  • Eliminates the heading “(a) In General.--” from that part of the law, effectively simplifying the statutory language.
