The School-Based Health Centers Reauthorization Act of 2019 updates the Public Health Service Act to keep federal support for health centers located in schools. It removes a previous restriction on which providers can operate these centers and extends the period during which funding can be provided, covering fiscal years 2019 through 2024. The changes affect school-based health centers, the providers that run them, and the students they serve.

Key Provisions

  • Extends the authorization of federal appropriations for school‑based health centers to cover fiscal years 2019 through 2024, replacing the earlier 2010‑2014 authorization period.
