A BILL
To prohibit the United States Postal Service from carrying out a contract for the procurement of next generation vehicle fleet unless such fleet is at least 75 percent electric or zero emission vehicles, and for other purposes.
Short title
This Act may be cited as the Green Postal Service Fleet Act of 2022
.
Prohibition on carrying out procurement contract for USPS next general fleet
In general
The United States Postal Service may not implement or otherwise carry out the contract, entered into with Oshkosh Defense, for the procurement of postal delivery vehicles unless each purchase of vehicles under such contract is at least 75 percent electric or zero emission vehicles.
Compliance
In carrying out subsection (a), the Postal Service shall comply with chapter 83 of title 41, United States Code (popularly known as the Buy American Act), and any applicable Federal labor or civil rights laws.
