A BILL

To provide for drinking water well replacement for Chincoteague, Virginia, and for other purposes.

1.

Short title

This Act may be cited as the Chincoteague Water Well Replacement Act.

2.

Drinking water well replacement for Chincoteague, Virginia

(a)

In general

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, during the ten-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of this division, the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration may enter into one or more agreements with the town of Chincoteague, Virginia, to reimburse the town for costs that are directly associated with—

(1)

the removal of drinking water wells located on property administered by the Administration;

(2)

the relocation of such wells to property under the administrative control, through lease, ownership, or easement, of the town; and

(3)

the installation or development of alternative drinking water infrastructure.

(b)

Authorization of appropriations

There is authorized to be appropriated $14,000,000 to carry out this section, to remain available until expended, subject to the time period specified in subsection (a).
