Improving Access to Small Business Information Act

AI-Generated Summary

The bill amends the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to state that actions taken by the Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation are not considered a “collection of information” under the Paperwork Reduction Act. This reduces reporting and clearance requirements for the Advocate, easing administrative burdens. The change mainly affects the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Advocate’s information‑gathering activities, while keeping certain reporting exceptions in place.

Key Provisions

  • Adds a new subsection (10) to Section 4(j) of the Securities Exchange Act, explicitly excluding the Advocate’s actions from the Paperwork Reduction Act’s definition of a collection of information.
  • Specifies that the exclusion does not apply to certain reporting requirements listed in sections 3506(c)(1), 3506(c)(4), 3506(i), and 3507(a)(1)(A) of title 44.
  • Clarifies that the SEC will not have to submit the Advocate’s information collections to the Office of Management and Budget, display a control number, or certify clearance under the Paperwork Reduction Act for those excluded actions.
