A BILL

To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to extend the requirement for State Medicaid plans to provide coverage for medication-assisted treatment.

1.

Short title

This Act may be cited as the Extending Access to Addiction Treatment Act.

Extending requirement for State Medicaid plans to provide coverage for medication-assisted treatment

(a)

In general

Section 1905(a)(29) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396d(a)(29)) is amended by striking 2025 and inserting 2035.

(b)

Conforming amendment

Section 1006(b)(4)(A) of the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities Act (42 U.S.C. 1396a note) is amended by striking 2025 and inserting 2035.
