Mr. Ossoff (for himself and Mr. Tillis) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Armed Services

A BILL

To modify the method for calculating the basic allowance for housing to more accurately assess the housing costs of junior members of the uniformed services.

Short title

This Act may be cited as the Junior Enlisted Housing Affordability Act of 2023.

Modification of calculation method for basic allowance for housing to more accurately assess housing costs of junior members of uniformed services

Section 403(b)(5) of title 37, United States Code, is amended, in the second sentence, by striking and shall be based on the following: and all that follows through determined in subparagraph (A).
