This joint resolution directs Congress to reject a rule that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) submitted to withdraw a prior circular about unlawful and unenforceable contract terms. By disapproving the withdrawal, the resolution keeps the original consumer‑protection guidance in force, affecting lenders, creditors, and consumers who rely on those rules.

Key Provisions

  • Congress formally disapproves the CFPB’s rule that would have withdrawn Circular 2024‑03 on unlawful and unenforceable contract terms, rendering that withdrawal ineffective.
