Wigs for Warriors Act

Introduced October 1, 2026

AI-Generated Summary

Updated October 7, 2026 at 4:23 AM UTC

The Wigs for Warriors Act amends the military health benefits law to broaden wig coverage for people enrolled in TRICARE. It expands eligibility to anyone with alopecia caused by a health condition other than androgenic alopecia, including hair loss from chemotherapy, and removes the rule that a person can only receive a wig once.

Key Provisions

  • Changes the eligibility language in Section 1074c of Title 10 so that wigs are provided to TRICARE beneficiaries with alopecia caused by any health condition (except androgenic alopecia) or by treatment of a health condition.
  • Eliminates the restriction that a beneficiary must not have previously received a wig, allowing multiple wig provisions if needed.
