Within one year of the law’s enactment, the Pay Agent must study the need for these zones, report the findings to Congress, and then put the new pay localities into effect. The change would affect federal employees who work in those two Florida regions by adjusting their salaries to reflect local cost‑of‑living differences.

Key Provisions

  • The Pay Agent must submit a report of the study’s results to Congress.
  • After the study, the Pay Agent is required to establish the new locality pay zones for those areas.
