The reports will detail how many loans were made, their total value, new and resolved fraud cases, and the kinds of fraud detected. The requirement lasts for two years and does not allocate additional funds.

Key Provisions

  • Each report must list the total number and dollar amount of the covered loans, new fraud or suspected fraud cases, resolved fraud cases, and describe the types of fraud involved.
  • “Covered loans” are defined as SBA loans made under specific sections of the Small Business Act that were issued in response to COVID‑19 during the CARES Act’s covered period.
  • The reporting requirements end two years after the law is enacted.
  • No new funding is authorized to carry out the reporting requirements.
