This House resolution clears the way for the House to consider H.R. 8035, which would extend the surveillance authorities under title VII of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act through October 20, 2027. It sets the procedural rules for that consideration, limiting debate time and motions, and waives any objections that might block the bill’s consideration.

Key Provisions

  • Waives all points of order against considering H.R. 8035 and against any of its provisions.
  • Allows the bill to be taken up as read and moved directly to final passage, except for a one‑hour debate split evenly between the Judiciary and Intelligence committee leadership (or their designees) and one motion to recommit.
  • Orders the previous question on the bill and any amendment, meaning no other motions can interrupt the vote.
