AI-Generated Summary

Updated October 1, 2026 at 11:10 AM UTC

The Wyoming Education Trust Modernization Act updates the 1890 law that governs how public land in Wyoming is disposed of for educational purposes. It changes the language in three sections so that the term “earnings on” is used instead of “interest of,” clarifying that the earnings generated from the land, rather than interest, are the focus. This affects how the state’s education trust fund calculates and uses revenue from the land.

Key Provisions

  • In Section 5 of the 1890 Act, the phrase “interest of” is replaced with “earnings on.”
  • In Section 7 of the 1890 Act, the phrase “interest of” is replaced with “earnings on.”
  • In Section 8 of the 1890 Act, the phrase “income thereof” is replaced with “earnings on which.”
