The Veteran Technology Employment Success Act of 2026 changes how the Department of Veterans Affairs measures the employment outcomes of veterans who finish the VET TEC high‑technology training program. It updates the calculation of the program’s average employment rate, expands reporting requirements, and adds a feedback‑gathering duty for the VA. The changes affect veterans in the VET TEC program, the VA Secretary, and the public who receive the reports.

Key Provisions

  • The VA must publish a public report on the VET TEC program to both Senate and House Veterans’ Affairs Committees.
  • The employment rate will be calculated as the percentage of program graduates who are employed 180 days after completing the program, excluding jobs with the program’s training provider or its affiliates as instructors.
  • The Secretary must also report separate rates for full‑time, part‑time, and self‑employment where possible.
  • The VA must continuously collect and analyze feedback from program participants and from the GI Bill School Feedback Tool (or its successor) to improve the program.
