Jasmine Crockett

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of the students, faculty, staff, families, and entire community of South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, Texas, on achieving an A rating from the Texas Education Agency.

This historic achievement reflects years of hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to academic excellence. In 2026, South Oak Cliff earned an A rating with a score of 91 out of 100--a remarkable milestone for a school with such a proud history and deep roots in the Oak Cliff community.

What makes this achievement especially remarkable is that South Oak Cliff has excelled both in the classroom and on the football field. The Golden Bears have won three state championships and made five consecutive UIL 5A State Championship appearances. They now stand among the schools that have demonstrated excellence both academically and athletically, making this a truly historic moment for South Oak Cliff and Dallas ISD.

This success reflects the dedication of generations of students, educators, coaches, families, and community leaders, as well as the leadership of Principal Dr. Willie F. Johnson.

For generations, South Oak Cliff High School has been a cornerstone of the Oak Cliff community. Today, the Golden Bears are continuing that legacy by showing that excellence can be achieved both on the field and in the classroom.

I congratulate the students, faculty, staff, families, coaches, and entire South Oak Cliff community on this historic A rating. I am proud to recognize the Golden Bears for this extraordinary achievement.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of the students, faculty, staff, families, and entire community of Dr. L.G. Pinkston Sr. High School in Dallas, Texas, on achieving an A rating from the Texas Education Agency.

This historic achievement is the result of years of steady growth, hard work, and a sustained commitment to excellence. In just 3 years, Pinkston has risen from a D rating in 2023 to a C, then a B, and now an A rating--demonstrating what can happen when students, educators, families, and a community remain committed to progress.

The Texas Education Agency also recognized Pinkston for student progress, social studies performance, and its work helping all student groups succeed. These accomplishments reflect not simply a single year's performance, but the dedication and consistency of a school community determined to ensure that every student has every opportunity to succeed.

Pinkston is preparing its students for success well beyond high school. The school offers college and career pathways that include NAF academies, career and technical education programs, technology and healthcare pathways, and early-college opportunities. Through its H- TECH healthcare pathway, students can work toward an associate degree alongside their high school diplomas.

This achievement is also a testament to the leadership and vision of Principal Tameca Ward, the teachers, and staff who support students every day, and the families and community members who continue to believe in the promise of Pinkston's students.

For generations, Dr. L.G. Pinkston Sr. High School has been an important part of Dallas' West Side. Today, the Pinkston Vikings are building on that legacy and showing what is possible through perseverance, high expectations, opportunity, and community.

I congratulate the students, faculty, staff, families, and community of Dr. L.G. Pinkston Sr. High School on this historic A rating. Their achievement is a source of pride for Dallas, and I look forward to seeing all that the Pinkston community will accomplish in the years ahead.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize all that made the 6th Annual Fish N' Kids Festival a fun and educational success for the young people across my district. On Saturday, June 6th, well over two hundred children and their families gathered at William Blair, Jr. Pond in South Dallas to spend the day learning how to fish, building community, and creating lasting memories.

I would like to thank Sr. Corporal Robert Serrano and the Southeast Patrol Division at the Dallas Police Department for providing safety and security during the event, and the Dallas Police Community Affairs team, especially Officer Brian Joseph, for their assistance. I would also like to recognize Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) Biologist Cynthia Fox Holt and her team for their assistance, as well as the volunteers who taught the children how to cast and fish. TPWD also kindly provided the necessary equipment for children who did not already have proper fishing gear.

Another special thanks to Dallas Parks and Recreation (DPR) Board Member Daniel Wood and the DPR team for ensuring the park had the necessary amenities to accommodate visitors throughout the day.

Finally, I want to thank my District office for their hard work and dedication to the Fish N' Kids event over the last six years. As this is our last Fish N' Kids as Team Crockett, I am so appreciative of their service to the thousands of children and families in the 30th Congressional District.
