Madam Speaker, people at home who might be listening to this may be wondering: Why is it so important that Speaker McCarthy pay our Nation's bills on time?

Why does Speaker McCarthy need to do that? It is because of what can happen if he doesn't.

It isn't just that seniors won't get their Social Security checks on time. It isn't just that veterans won't get their medical care at VA hospitals. It isn't just that Medicare and Medicaid bills won't get processed. It is that interest rates will immediately go up because interest rates reflect the risk of non-repayment.

If we don't repay our national debt, then interest rates will go up on this country. We fall into a recession, and millions of jobs will go away. It is a horrible situation.

Speaker McCarthy needs to pay our bills on time.

This is a grotesque negotiation he has going on over at the White House even as we speak because whoever cares least about the well-being of America and America's standing in the world in that negotiation wins the negotiation.

I say to Speaker McCarthy: Do your job.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the incredible achievements of the 2022-2023 Dunmore High School girls varsity basketball team. During this year's season, the ``Lady Bucks'' brought great pride to our community by winning the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) 3A State Championship for the first time in school history.

As the Member of the U.S. House representing Dunmore, I'm proud to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of the Lady Bucks that led to their championship. They played with passion and a spirit of excellence that was evident in every game. They demonstrated that when a group of individuals works together and supports each other, anything is possible.

I want to acknowledge the coaching staff, led by Coach Carrie Toomey, and Assistant Coach Michael O'Malley, who have instilled a culture of commitment, discipline, and respect in these athletes. Under their guidance, Dunmore truly played a season worthy of a state title.

The success of the 2022-2023 team is also a reflection of the support they received from the Dunmore itself. From parents and families who cheered them on in every game, to the teachers and staff who have provided guidance and encouragement, to the businesses and organizations that also supported the team, the Dunmore Lady Bucks have been lifted up by the entire community.

It's no surprise it happened that way because, in Northeastern Pennsylvania, we believe in the power of working together and showing civic spirit. The Dunmore Lady Bucks' championship is a testament to the strength of that belief. These players demonstrated what can happen when we support our young people to the fullest.

So, I congratulate the 2022-2023 Dunmore High School girls varsity basketball team on their historic season and thank them for inspiring us all. I'm proud to represent Dunmore and look forward to celebrating many more successes in the future.

Mr. Speaker, I rise to bring greater awareness of fibromyalgia: a complex chronic illness that causes fatigue, cognitive problems, and debilitating pain for people across demographics, but mainly in women. There is no known cure.

Over 6 million people in the United States--two to four percent of our population--and millions worldwide have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Some are still waiting to be diagnosed. It can take an average of three to five years to receive a diagnosis. Those who are diagnosed with fibromyalgia may experience a lack of social acceptance and disbelief.

First coined in the 1950s from a set of difficult to explain regional and widespread musculoskeletal pain issues mixed with symptoms of psychosocial distress. While the diagnostic criteria changed in 2010, and is by some seen as a primary pain disorder with a neurobiological basis, we lack consensus in the medical community. In 2017, fibromyalgia flashed in the mainstream news when popular music artist Lady Gaga revealed how severe pain from a fibromyalgia flare-up caused her to cancel part of her concert tour.

Chronic or persistent pain, a primary symptom of fibromyalgia, is pain that carries on for longer than 12 weeks despite medication or treatment. Chronic pain correlates with complications, including severe depression and suicidal attempts and ideation. 20 percent of our population have chronic pain, and 10 percent have pain with work limitations.

It is my hope we can work together to support a better future for research, treatment, diagnosis, and education on fibromyalgia and chronic pain in order to greatly improve lives and bolster the overall success of our Nation.

Mr. Speaker, today I recognize the Pittston Kiwanis Club on its 100th anniversary. For a century, this organization has been an integral part of the Pittston community, dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through service projects and leadership programs.

The Pittston Kiwanis Club was chartered in 1923, and since then its members have served as beacons of hope and positivity for the people of Pittston. Kiwanians are known for their generosity, creativity, and passion for making a difference. They supported community causes through their events such as golf tournaments, purse bingos, and more, all to support numerous service projects.

The Pittston Kiwanis Club's service projects are varied, but all are focused on making a difference in the community. The Pittston Kiwanis Club supports the Pittston Library, YMCA youth programs, Care and Concern ministries, and NEPA Inclusive. The organization provides holiday parties for residents of Heavenly Manor Personal Care Home and replaces flags and holders on the graves of 1,200 veterans each year for Memorial Day. The club has also been picking up litter from Oak Street in Pittston Township several times each year for the past 30 years. Additionally, it has participated in Kiwanis International Projects such as Iodine Deficiency Disorder and Maternal Neonatal Health.

One of the most significant contributions of the Pittston Kiwanis Club to the community is its Service Leadership Programs. These programs, which includes the Pittston Area Key Club for high school students, K-Kids for elementary students in the Pittston Area, and Builders Club for students ages 12-14 at Martin Mattei, give children and young adults the opportunity to serve their schools and communities, and develop lifelong leadership skills.

For 100 years, the Pittston Kiwanis Club has been improving the world one child and one community at a time. Its commitment to service, leadership, and community has been an inspiration to all. I am honored to recognize the Pittston Kiwanis Club's many achievements and would like to congratulate its members on this important milestone.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Sondra Myers to celebrate her retirement after nearly two decades as the founding director of The University of Scranton's Schemel Forum. Sondra is also the co-founder of Scranton's Interdependence Day, which promotes reaching out to neighbors and the world community to show that working together for security, economic and social justice, and preservation of the earth is essential.

Sondra has been instrumental in bringing the world to Scranton, and her impact on the community cannot be overstated.

Before joining The University of Scranton, Sondra served in various leadership roles, including as a special assistant to the chairman for partnerships at the National Endowment for the Humanities, cultural advisor to Pennsylvania Governor Robert P. Casey, and senior associate at the University of Maryland's Democracy Collaborative. She has also held numerous positions in academia, including director of the President's Millennium Seminars at The George Washington University and senior advisor on civic affairs to the president of Connecticut College.

Sondra has written, edited, and co-edited several books on democracy and civic engagement, presented programs in several countries, and organized and moderated symposia on culture and public policy for academic institutions and cultural organizations throughout the United States. Her impact on the national stage is evident through her appointments by Presidents Obama and Carter to the Commission on Presidential Scholars and the U.S. Commission on Fine Arts, respectively.

Sondra's leadership and expertise have been invaluable to the University of Scranton. Under her guidance, the Schemel Forum has become a highly popular program that brings renowned speakers to Scranton to engage in dialogue on a wide range of topics. Sondra's commitment to promoting cultural understanding and learning has enriched the community, and her legacy will continue to inspire scholars for generations.

Sondra's contributions to the arts and humanities are immeasurable, and her dedication to public service, is truly admirable. I extend my heartfelt congratulations on her retirement and wish her many fulfilling and enjoyable years ahead with her husband, Morey, and family.

Mr. Speaker, today I honor Jennifer Manganello for her years of exemplary service to the United States House of Representatives, the citizens of my Congressional District, and American Democracy as a whole.

Jennifer officially joined my Scranton, Pennsylvania office in 2015 after serving as an intern the prior year. A Moreau Honors Scholar and magna cum laude graduate of Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts, she received a bachelor's degree in American Studies and English and was named to the honor societies of Lambda Epsilon Sigma, Stonehill Honor Society and Sigma Tau Delta, the English National Honor Society.

She also studied abroad at England's University of Oxford, completing coursework on Victorian novels, Shakespeare, Nostalgia in American Culture, and novelist Philip Roth.

Jennifer's love of writing and the English language was evident in all her office roles but was especially apparent in the thousands of Congressional Records and Letters of Recognition she crafted to honor those deserving in my district. Thanks to her immense writing talents and abundance of creativity, every single one of the recognitions she penned came to life on the page.

She started off in my office as a Caseworker, serving as a dedicated community servant and helping our most vulnerable constituents find housing, resolve insurance issues, and secure financial assistance if struggling with household bills and food supplies.

She also served as the Program Manager for my district's Congressional Arts Competition and App Challenge, nurturing and mentoring student artists and encouraging participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

She most recently was a member of our Communications Team, serving as the Press and Media Manager, where once again her writing abilities continued to shine.

Sadly, yesterday was the last day Jennifer Manganello served in my office. She is on to the next phase of what will no doubt be an incredible career that will allow her to share her immense talents and consummate dedication to our country's democratic principles in order to further inspire citizen engagement, expand economic opportunities, and improve the world as we know it.

I thank you, Jennifer, for going above and beyond for our office and our district. I wish her much success with her new nonprofit role.

Madam Chair, I wish to raise my voice against H.R. 1, this bill that has been given the moniker ``polluters over people.'' I think it is an appropriate moniker, and I will tell you why. It doesn't create energy independence any more than anything else we are doing in the energy sector. It doesn't save people money. This is money that will go into the pockets of Big Oil and big polluters.

We all saw during the pandemic when the price of oil per barrel leveled off, the price at the pump per gallon kept going up and up and up, and everybody who was filling up their gas tank and feeling like they needed to get an onsite mortgage to do it, knew where that money was going. It was going into the pockets of the oil companies.

You know what else it doesn't do? It doesn't save our government money. In fact, it costs our government money. $400 million extra this will add to the annual deficit if we pass this bill, this polluters over people bill.

You know, the question is: Well, what does it do? Well, it does away, Madam Chair, with bedrock protections for the things that people count on the government protecting: clean air, clean water. It does away with the National Environmental Policy Act almost entirely, and it guts the Clean Water Act.

This is not what Americans signed up for for their government. In fact, there are statutes, there are protections that were put in place during Republican and Democratic administrations over the years. It has become things that Americans have learned to depend on, to count on, that the government is going to keep their air and their water clean for them. This takes that away. It eliminates it.

What else does it do? It is going to cost homeowners money. It takes away the electrification program that will give them rebates to redoing the electricity in their house.

Finally, what it does is it throws up the white flag in our war against climate change. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs in this country, General Milley, has identified climate change as a threat to national security, and he is right.

We are in a fight against climate change. This is not the time to throw up the white flag and run away from a fight. Americans don't do this. I say stick up for people over the polluters, people over politics. Vote ``no'' on H.R. 1.

Mr. Speaker, today I honor Kevin P. Donovan, who will be named the 2023 Man of the Year by the Ancient Order of Hibernians Paul ``Hook'' O'Malley Division 4. Kevin will be honored at their annual gathering this very day.

Kevin is the son of Marian Elizabeth Lockard Donovan and the late Daniel John Donovan. He was raised with his eight siblings in the Keyser Valley section of West Scranton. He grew up attending St. David's Church and playing baseball at the Lackawanna Little League. He was selected to play on the All-Star team and helped lead the team to several championship titles.

Kevin is a 1987 graduate of West Scranton Senior High School. While at West Scranton, he stood out as a member of the cross country and track and field teams. He clinched numerous district medals, including second place in the district cross country championship meet. He was also the Jordan Relays champion in track and the southern division track champion. He still holds several records in both track and cross country at West Scranton High School. He was a two-time state qualifier as well as a member of the varsity wrestling team.

Kevin has worked as a roofer for Local No. 30 out of Philadelphia for 30 years. He currently works for the Lackawanna County Housing Authority SEIU Local No. 668.

Kevin is a more than 30-year member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and a current officer in the Paul ``Hook'' O'Malley Division 4. He is a dedicated volunteer with many community charitable organizations and a parishioner at St. Patrick's church where he is a member of the Holy Name Society.

Kevin is married to Michelle Lynch Donovan, and they have three children, Kevin, Kacey and Liam. He is also the proud grandfather of his grandson Braydon.

I am honored to join with the Ancient Order of Hibernians Paul ``Hook'' O'Malley Division 4 to recognize Kevin as the Man of the Year for his lifelong service to the community. May he continue to feel called to serve and support others.

Mr. Speaker, Today I honor the late James ``Kuch'' Kuchwara for his military service and his lifelong service to his fellow veterans as commander of VFW Post 25. Kuch passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

Kuch, the son of the late John and Rose Kelly Kuchwara, was born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Scranton Technical High School with the Class of 1968. Answering the call of duty to serve his country, Kuch enlisted in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, he worked in the construction and contracting industry. For more than 30 years, he was employed as a crew leader for the Pennsylvania American Gas and Water Company.

He was a proud member and president of the local IBEW Union for UGI and a member of the masonry union.

Kuch is best known around Scranton as the commander of the General Theodore J. Wint VFW Post 25, one of the oldest VFWs in the country. He led this very active VFW post of more than 500 members in both social, ceremonial and community service endeavors. He has been at the helm of many of the post's initiatives, like hanging hometown heroes banners along streets in North Scranton, recruiting younger veterans to join his post and getting a bridge named for General Wint, a brigadier general and the post's namesake. Kuch and VFW Post 25 have championed one of the City of Scranton's most ambitious veterans' recognition projects, a 7-feet-tall and 33-feet-long granite monument with the names of nearly 1000 Scrantonians who died in battle.

Kuch has been a long-time dedicated supporter of veterans' issues from all angles. Just last year, he stood by me as I announced the Camp Lejeune Justice Act. Men like Kuch have taught me a great deal about what it means to be an American and a public servant.

I am humbled to join with Kuch's family and friends, VFW Post 25 and the entire community in honoring the life and service of this American patriot. He leaves behind an indelible legacy and his honor, integrity and steadfast leadership won't soon be forgotten.

Mr. Speaker, today I honor Attorney Neil O'Donnell who was named the Man of the Year by the Greater Wilkes-Barre Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. He was honored at the group's annual gathering on March 17, 2023.

Neil graduated with honors from Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, before matriculating at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1987 and began practicing law that same year.

Neil spent three years working for the Philadelphia-based law firm of Baskin, Flaherty, Elliott & Mannino. He returned to Northeastern Pennsylvania in 1990 and started the O'Donnell Law Offices. Over the past 30 years, Neil has grown the O'Donnell Law Offices into one of the leading legal practices in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He has cultivated an impressive reputation through his commitment to practicing to the highest standard.

In addition to the Pennsylvania Bar, Neil is admitted to the Middle District of Pennsylvania and Eastern District of Pennsylvania District Courts, the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. For his legal acumen, he has been named to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Top 100, the National Trial Lawyers Top 100, Best Lawyers, American Society of Legal Advocates Top 100 Lawyer, Rue Ratings Best Attorneys of America and National Association of Distinguished Counsel. He also received a Martindale Hubble AV Preeminent Rating and is a Litigation Counsel of American Fellow. Neil has shared his extensive legal experience with his peers as a presenter for leading attorney groups like the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, Melvin Belli Society and the Brain Injury Association of California.

In addition to his legal practice, Neil has served as the chair of the Senatorial Advisory Committee Panel for the Selection of United States Attorneys and U.S. Marshals for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania. He is the co-chair of the Senatorial Advisory Panel for the Selection of the U.S. District Court. This past November, Neil was named to the 11-person board for the Governor Josh Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis's Transition after their election.

I am honored to join with the Greater Wilkes-Barre Friendly Sons to recognize Neil as the Man of the Year. His career has been marked by impressive integrity and service to the legal profession, and I am proud to celebrate his many achievements and contributions to the field of law and our community. I wish him the best.

Mr. Speaker, today I honor Joseph McFarland III, who has been awarded the Gilmartin Achievement Award by the Greater Pittston Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. Joseph will be recognized at the group's annual gathering on March 17, 2023.

Joseph, the son of Joseph and Andrea McFarland, grew up in Old Forge, Pennsylvania. He attended Bishop Hannon High School, graduating with the class of 1987. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving for six years, including during the Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm, before his honorable discharge.

In 1993, Joseph began working as an hourly associate at the Home Depot, beginning his 30-year career in retail. He quickly rose through the ranks, taking on increasingly challenging and increasingly senior positions. He retired from the company in 2015 as a division president, overseeing more than 110,000 associates. Joseph continued to excel in retail executive management. He was based in Dallas, Texas as the chief operations officers of JCPenney, where he was responsible for stores, operations and merchandising.

Since 2018, Joseph has been the executive vice president for Lowe's. He is responsible for nearly 300,000 associates, leading teams relating to stores, contact centers, services, operations, workforce management, asset protection, real estate, facilities, aviation and global security.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Joseph works to give back to his community. He serves on the boards of the Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation, City of Hope Hardware/Homebuilding Industry, Building Homes for Heroes and the Big XII Council. Together with his wife, Misty, he founded a nonprofit real estate company to provide affordable housing for Georgians in need in the Greater Atlanta area.

I am honored to join with the Greater Pittston Friendly Sons to recognize Joseph, a proud son of Northeastern Pennsylvania, for his impressive career achievements and his military service. May he continue to strive for excellence in his professional and personal endeavors. I wish him the best this St. Patrick's Day.

Mr. Speaker, today I honor James T. Rooney who has been awarded the W. Francis Swingle Award by the Greater Pittston Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. He will be recognized at the group's annual gathering on Friday, March 17, 2023.

James is the son of the late James A. Rooney and Margaret Mary Hennigan Rooney and a lifelong resident of Pittston, Pennsylvania. He graduated from St. John the Evangelist High School with the Class of 1976, and he continued his academic career at Luzerne County Community College, studying fire science. He also completed coursework at the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy in Lewistown, Pennsylvania.

James first followed his passion for firefighting by joining the Niagara Engine Co. No. 2 as a volunteer firefighter in July 1976. He rose through the ranks to be named secretary then captain of the company. In December 1980, he was hired as a part-time fire truck driver, then hired as a full-time fighter and apparatus operator in April 1985. In 1992, James

was promoted to assistant fire chief, and by 2001, he was deputy fire chief. He retired in June 2020 as the fire chief, a position he held for 14 years.

James proudly served his beloved hometown as a firefighter for 35 years. During his tenure, he helped thousands of children, educators and older adults learn about fire prevention and safety. He has also taught CPR for the American Heart Association, and for the past 30 years, he has served as treasurer of the Pittston Volunteer Firemen's Relief Association. For his efforts, he was acknowledged by the Pennsylvania Senate in 2006. Since his retirement, he has been working part-time for Adonizio Funeral Home.

In addition to his service to Pittston as a firefighter, James is also an active member of many community organizations. He has served as an EMT with the Greater Pittston Ambulance, attaining the rank of captain. James is a past president and member of the Greater Pittston Friendly Sons and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 372 and the 4th Degree Assembly 948. He also belongs to the Pennsylvania Career Fire Chiefs Association, the NEPA Emerald Society and the Avoca Ancient Order of Hibernians. He has been on the boards of YMCA and the Pittston Little League and a coach for many youth sports teams.

I am honored to join with the Greater Pittston Friendly Sons to recognize James for his impressive firefighting career and his lifelong service to his community. May he continue to find purpose and fulfillment in giving back to others. I wish him all the best this St. Patrick's Day.

Mr. Speaker, today I honor Wayne Evans who will receive the Saint David's Society of Lackwanna County President's Award for outstanding contribution to Welsh heritage in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He will be honored at the organization's 130th annual gathering on March 4, 2023.

Wayne grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania and graduated from Scranton Central High School. He continued his academic career at Penn State University. He spent much of his professional career working for Verizon Communications as an engineer. Following his retirement from Verizon, he started Wayne Evans Realty in Scranton.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Wayne has been a lifelong dedicated community volunteer. He has served as the president of the Greater Scranton Board of Realtors and the Architectural Heritage Association. Wayne is passionate about uplifting his beloved hometown and has dedicated significant time and effort to serving his community and fellow citizens. He was president of the South Scranton Residents Association and a member of both the Ethics Board and the Historic and Architectural Review Board for the City of Scranton. He served as the finance chair of Scranton City Council from 2014 to 2019, and he held the title of mayor in 2019. Additionally, he was appointed to the Judicial Conduct Review Board for the Commonwealth by former governor, Tom Wolf.

Wayne's dedication to his community and fellow citizens also earned him positions on the boards of a diverse group of organizations. He sits on the boards of Keystone College, Howard Gardner Multiple Intelligence Charter School, Scranton Tomorrow, NeighborWorks of Northeastern Pennsylvania, and the Scranton Lackawanna Industrial Building Company (SLIBCO). He is also vice president of the St. David's Society, and no one celebrates Welsh heritage, history, and culture with more enthusiasm than Wayne.

Wayne and his wife Nancy have 4 sons, Kyle, Morgan, Christian and Jeremy and 7 grandchildren.

I'm honored to join with the St. David's Society of Lackwanna County to celebrate Wayne's unparalleled contributions to his community and his promotion of Welsh heritage in our region. May he continue to find fulfillment and purpose by serving others.

Mr. Speaker, today I honor Bob Savakinus who was named the 2023 Anthracite Cultural Person of the Year by the 250th Anthracite Commemorative Board. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have promoted Anthracite heritage for more than 20 years through special projects. Bob will be honored on February 19, 2023.

An avid history buff, Bob had dedicated much of his time to uplifting Northeastern Pennsylvania's cultural contributions and bringing attention to the rich history of our region. With his film company, Cannon Fire Productions, he has produced many documentaries on the subject, including The Rocky Glen Movie, Return to Rocky Glen Movie, A Token. to the Past: The Story of the Electric City, Full Steam Ahead: Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Steamtown NHS, The Confederation of Union Generals, Hanson's Amusement Park, Agnes, and Scranton's Championship Season. Each of these films has been a thoughtful, well- researched and dynamic look into institutions that have defined Northeastern Pennsylvania's history and identity.

Following the success of these documentaries, Bob has turned his attention to full length feature films, and he has been advocating for bringing both national and international filmmakers to the Anthracite region.

In addition to championing Northeastern Pennsylvania's past, he also volunteers his time to work for a brighter future by serving on the boards of many local organizations. He is a board member of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Special Education Advisory Panel, United Nations Association of NEPA, Lackawanna Valley Conservation Association, the Lackawanna County Industrial Development Authority, among others.

When not focusing on his filmmaking endeavors and board memberships, he works as a transition education specialist for the Luzerne Intermediate Unit #18 and produces and hosts In a Nutshell on Comcast Channel 19 to further explore Northeastern Pennsylvania history. Bob has also been a driving force behind the annual Santa Train stop in Scranton, and he is a founder of the Arts on Fire festival in Scranton.

It is an honor to recognize Bob as a titan of historical preservation of the Anthracite region. I deeply admire his unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting our history and culture and wish him all the best for many productive years to come.

Mr. Speaker, today I honor Karen A. Clifford who will be named the UNICAN of the Year by the UNICO National Scranton Chapter at their annual gathering on Saturday, February 25, 2023. As UNICO National celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, the Scranton Chapter has determined that Karen truly embodies the organization's motto of ``service above self.''

Karen was raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania by her parents, Jane and Philip Clifford, and her godparents, Margaret and Stanley Sienkiewicz. A graduate of Keystone College, Karen spent 33 years of her professional career at Verizon, working in engineering, marketing and the business office. After retiring from Verizon, she continued working with TR Associates as the Vice President of Development.

Karen has dedicated her life to uplifting her fellow citizens and contributing to community service organizations, often holding leadership roles on their boards. She has proudly served as board member and past chairperson for the NET Credit Union and secretary, treasurer and vice chairperson of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce. She continues to serve on Skills in Scranton for the Chamber. Currently, Karen serves on the boards of Scranton Counseling Center, La Festa Italiana and St. Francis Kitchen. She is also a past president of Saint Joseph's Foundation and co-president of Saint Joseph's Center Auxiliary.

Karen has been an instrumental force for good through her service with the UNICO National Scranton Chapter. She currently sits on the board of directors for the organization and recently joined the Ladies Auxiliary. She was the first woman to serve as the chair of the UNICO National Convention in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Under her direction, the Hershey convention was the largest in UNICO history.

Karen's commitment to her community does not end with her service on leadership boards. She uses her unparalleled knowledge of local issue and organizations as well as her vast network of Facebook friends to connect people and highlight local small business, fundraisers and good news from the community.

It is an honor to join with the Scranton Chapter of UNICO National to recognize Karen for her contributions to their organization and our community at large. May she continue to find fulfillment and purpose in serving others.
