Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize and commend the South Carolina Military Veterans Hall of Fame for its dedication to honoring the generations of South Carolinians whose courage, sacrifice, and service have defended our Nation and preserved our freedoms. As America celebrates the 250th anniversary of our independence, we are reminded of South Carolina's proud tradition of military service, dating back to the founding of our Republic. From the Patriots who fought at Sullivan's Island, Kings Mountain, and Cowpens to the brave men and women serving in uniform today, South Carolinians have answered our Nation's call for two and a half centuries.
The South Carolina Military Veterans Hall of Fame serves to preserve this remarkable legacy by recognizing distinguished veterans and sharing their stories with future generations. Through its commitment to honoring those who have served, the Hall of Fame reminds us that the freedoms we enjoy are made possible by the courage and sacrifice of our servicemembers and their families.
