   Section 853 of the Ronald W. Reagan National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2005 (Public Law 108-375; 118 Stat. 2021) is amended by striking "September 30, 2005" in subsections (a)(2)(A) and (b)(2)(A) and inserting "September 30, 2006".

   Inserted: SEC. 846. REPORTS OF ADVISORY PANEL ON LAWS AND REGULATIONS ON ACQUISITION PRACTICES.

   Inserted: (a) Extension of Final Report.--Section 1423(d) of the Services Acquisition Reform Act of 2003 (title XIV of Public Law 108-136; 117 Stat. 1669; 41 U.S.C. 405 note) is amended by striking "one year" and inserting "two years".

   Inserted: (b) Requirement for Interim Report.--That section is further amended--

   Inserted: (1) by inserting "(1)" before "Not later than"; and

   Inserted: (2) by adding at the end the following new paragraph:

   Inserted: "(2) Not later than one year after the date of the establishment of the panel, the panel shall submit to the official and committees referred to in paragraph (1) an interim report on the matters set forth in that paragraph.".
