SA 83. Mr. McCONNELL (for Mr. Sullivan) submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by Mr. McConnell to the bill S. 870, to amend the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 to authorize appropriations for the United States Fire Administration and firefighter assistance grant programs; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place, insert the following: SEC. ___. ELIGIBLE USE FOR GRANT FUNDS. Section 33(c)(3) of the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 (15 U.S.C. 2229(c)(3)) is amended-- (1) by redesignating subparagraphs (K) through (N) as subparagraphs (L) through (O), respectively; and (2) by inserting after subparagraph (J) the following: ``(K) To construct in communities with not more than 10,000 individuals fire stations, fire training facilities, and other facilities to protect the health and safety of firefighting personnel.''. ______
