AI-Generated Summary

Updated April 15, 2026 at 10:31 PM UTC

This House resolution sets the procedural rules for debating and voting on H.R. 6136, an immigration and border‑security bill. It removes normal objections, caps debate time, permits a single motion to send the bill back to committee, and moves the measure directly to a final vote.

Key Provisions

  • Waives all points of order against considering H.R. 6136 and its provisions.
  • Limits debate on the bill to one hour total: 40 minutes split equally between the Judiciary and Homeland Security committee chairs and ranking members, and 20 minutes split similarly.
  • Allows only one motion to recommit the bill.
  • Orders the previous question so the bill (and any amendments) can go straight to final passage after the allotted debate.
