AI-Generated Summary

Updated April 15, 2026 at 12:15 PM UTC

The bill updates the Denali National Park Improvement Act to clarify rules for the natural‑gas pipeline that runs through the park. It changes the language describing where a permit applies, revises the list of terms and conditions for the pipeline, and states that the pipeline in non‑wilderness parts of the park is not covered by certain Alaska conservation protections. The changes affect how the pipeline is regulated and what federal laws apply to it.

Key Provisions

  • Removes the phrase “within, along, or near the approximately 7‑mile segment of the George Parks Highway that runs through the Park” from the permit provision.
  • Modifies the terms and conditions section by adding an “and” after a semicolon, deleting one subparagraph, and renumbering another subparagraph.
  • Adds a new clause saying a high‑pressure gas transmission pipeline (and its appurtenances) in a non‑wilderness area of the park is not subject to Title XI of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act.
