The bill revises the Federal Assets Sale and Transfer Act of 2016 to tie key deadlines to when the Public Buildings Reform Board is actually appointed, giving the Board enough time to fulfill its duties. By adjusting language in several sections, it ensures the Board’s responsibilities and related timelines are aligned with its start date, affecting how federal assets are sold, transferred, and accounted for.

Key Provisions

  • Amends Section 4(c)(2) of the Federal Assets Sale and Transfer Act to remove a subparagraph and re‑word the appointment language for the Public Buildings Reform Board, reorganizing the related clauses.
  • Changes Section 10 so that any termination deadline is based on the date the Board members are appointed, rather than the date the Act was enacted.
  • Updates Section 12(e) to make the accounting‑system deadline also depend on the Board members’ appointment date instead of the Act’s enactment date.
