A bill to remove the sunset provision of section 203 of Public Law 105-384 and for other purposes.

Introduced January 9, 2017

AI-Generated Summary

Updated April 15, 2026 at 11:40 AM UTC

The bill eliminates the built‑in expiration (sunset) for a part of the law that governs the Dungeness crab fishery. By making that portion permanent, it keeps the existing management rules in place indefinitely, affecting the agencies and stakeholders that oversee and harvest Dungeness crab.

Key Provisions

  • Deletes subsection (i) of section 203 of Public Law 105‑384, which contains the sunset language.
  • Renumbers the former subsection (j) as the new subsection (i), so the management provisions continue without an expiration date.
