AI-Generated Summary

Updated April 15, 2026 at 2:07 PM UTC

The bill lets the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) give the license holder of the Cannonsville Dam project more time to start building. It allows up to four additional two‑year extensions beyond the original deadline and lets FERC restore a license that has already expired, counting the first extension from the expiration date. The changes affect the project’s licensee and FERC’s licensing process.

Key Provisions

  • FERC may grant the licensee up to four consecutive two‑year extensions to begin construction of project #13287 at Cannonsville Dam, if the licensee requests it and follows notice, good‑faith, due‑diligence, and public‑interest requirements.
  • If the construction deadline has already passed, FERC can reinstate the expired license as of the original expiration date.
  • When a reinstated license is used, the first of the new two‑year extensions starts on the date the license originally expired.
