AI-Generated Summary

Updated February 8, 2026 at 4:15 AM UTC

The bill seeks to stop any mandate that members of the U.S. Armed Forces receive a COVID‑19 vaccine. It bars the use of federal money to impose such a requirement and prevents the responsible secretary from taking punitive or discriminatory actions against service members who refuse the vaccine. The measure would affect all active‑duty military personnel and the Department of Defense’s vaccination policies.

Key Provisions

  • Prohibits the use of any federal funds to require a service member to get a COVID‑19 vaccination.
  • Bars the Secretary of Defense (or other designated secretary) from taking any adverse action—such as retaliation, punishment, disparate treatment, mask mandates, or assigning substandard housing—against a service member who declines the vaccine.
  • Provides definitions for “adverse action” and identifies the “Secretary concerned” as defined in Title 10, U.S. Code.
