The SCREEN Act of 2026 changes federal law to let the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) share information with two additional federal agencies. It adds the Department of State and the Department of Homeland Security to the list of agencies that can receive NCMEC data for screening and vetting purposes. The change affects how NCMEC handles disclosures and expands the agencies that can use that information.

Key Provisions

  • Amends 18 U.S.C. § 2258A(g)(3) to insert a new subparagraph allowing the Department of State and the Department of Homeland Security to receive NCMEC disclosures for screening and vetting.
  • Renumbers the existing subparagraphs so the new entry becomes subparagraph (D), shifting the former (D) and (E) to (E) and (F).
