Integrity for Taxpayers Act

Introduced October 1, 2026

AI-Generated Summary

Updated October 7, 2026 at 4:23 AM UTC

The Integrity for Taxpayers Act amends title XI of the Social Security Act to make clear when the HHS Inspector General can bar entities from federal health‑care programs. It specifies that the control relationship must exist at the time a person is convicted, receives a civil monetary penalty, or is excluded, and it fixes a reference error in the statute.

Key Provisions

  • Updates the language for entities controlled by a sanctioned individual so that the direct or indirect control must be present at the time of the conviction, civil monetary penalty, or exclusion.
  • Revises the rule for individuals who control a sanctioned entity, requiring that their officer status and control be in effect at the time of the conviction, penalty, or exclusion.
  • Corrects a technical citation in the statute, changing a reference from section 1128A(i)(6) to section 1128A(i)(7).
