AI-Generated Summary

Updated November 23, 2025 at 10:25 PM UTC

The Farm Credit Adjustment Act gives the Farm Credit Administration the ability to extend the required examination period for low‑risk Farm Credit System institutions to a maximum of two years. This change replaces the previous rule that did not allow any extension, giving the FCA flexibility in oversight. The amendment applies to all low‑risk institutions within the Farm Credit System and becomes effective on October 1, 2026.

Key Provisions

  • Amends the Farm Credit Act of 1971 to let the Farm Credit Administration (FCA) use its discretion to lengthen the mandatory examination interval for low‑risk Farm Credit System institutions to up to 24 months.
  • Changes the wording in the law by removing “in no event” and adding “not,” which creates the new option for the FCA.
  • The new examination schedule option takes effect on October 1, 2026.
