Introduced December 17, 2025

AI-Generated Summary

Updated January 21, 2026 at 5:40 AM UTC

The Databases of Publicly Owned Land Act amends the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 to increase transparency for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. It requires any organization that receives a CDBG grant to keep an online, searchable list of every parcel of undeveloped land it owns. The rule applies to all current and future CDBG grantees and takes effect on October 1, 2026.

Key Provisions

  • Adds a new requirement (paragraph 7) that CDBG grantees must maintain a publicly accessible, searchable website database showing all undeveloped land parcels they own.
  • The amendment becomes effective on October 1, 2026.
  • Minor wording changes (removing an extra "and" and adjusting punctuation) are made to the existing statute, but they do not affect the substantive requirement.
