Trump Accounts for All Generations Act

Introduced April 15, 2026

AI-Generated Summary

Updated April 21, 2026 at 6:11 AM UTC

The Trump Accounts for All Generations Act makes a tax‑benefit program known as the Trump accounts contribution permanent. It eliminates the program’s original 2029 deadline, adds an automatic inflation adjustment to the $1,000 contribution amount for tax years after 2028, and removes the word “pilot” from the related code sections. The changes apply to anyone eligible for the credit beginning with tax years that start after December 31, 2026.

Key Provisions

  • Deletes the expiration date (“and before January 1, 2029”) so the program continues indefinitely.
  • Adds an inflation adjustment: for taxable years beginning after 2028, the $1,000 amount is increased by the cost‑of‑living adjustment (using 2027 as the base year) and rounded down to the nearest $100.
  • Updates the Internal Revenue Code by removing the label “pilot” from sections 6434, 6213(g)(2)(AA), and 6659, and from related table‑of‑contents entries.
  • Sets the effective date of all changes to taxable years beginning after December 31, 2026.
