AI-Generated Summary

The FEC Administrative Improvements Act updates the Federal Election Campaign Act to modernize how campaign finance information is reported and how political committees can pay expenses. It requires electronic filing of reports for anyone who makes certain electioneering communications, and it lets political committees make disbursements using methods other than checks. The changes affect campaign advertisers and political committees that spend or disburse money.

Key Provisions

  • Requires electronic filing of reports for persons who make electioneering communications, adding that activity to the list of expenditures that must be reported electronically.
  • Allows political committees to make disbursements from their accounts using methods other than checks, removing the previous restriction that required checks.
